STARBALL TO COVER PWHL IN NEAR FUTURE

Starball Sports and Entertainment will cover the PWHL in the near future.

Seattle, WA and Minneapolis, MN: Starball Sports and Entertainment will be covering the Professional Women’s Hockey League in the near future.

“On the opening night of the third season in the league’s history, I have decided to announce a new coverage and sport that I have long wanted to cover with Starball. I am pleased to see the growth of the PWHL not only to potentially 12 teams in the near future, but also witness new expansion into the region I grew up in, the Pacific Northwest, with the addition of not only the Seattle Torrent, but the Vancouver Goldeneyes. We look forward to announcing more in the near future, please stay tuned.”

The PWHL operates eight teams in four US States and three Canadian Provinces.

The PWHL began with six teams in Minnesota, Boston, New York, Montreal, Toronto, and Calgary for the inagural 2023-24 season before expanding to Seattle Washington and Vancouver British Columbia bettor the start of the current 2025-26 season.

The Walter Cup

For the upcoming season, teams will play a 30 game season that begins Friday November 21st, 2025 and ends Saturday April 25th, 2026. The top four teams will make the Walter Cup Playoffs with both Semi-Finals and the 2026 Walter Cup Finals consisting of a best of five series to determine the PWHL and Walter Cup Champions. The Minnesota Frost are the two time defending Walter Cup Champions after taking down the Ottawa Charge 3 games to 1 last season with all four games decided in overtime (game three was decided in triple overtime 2-1 to the Frost).
